New “Oreschnik” missile in Russian-Belarusian nuclear test

Russia and Belarus have completed the Zapad 2025 military exercise, which simulated the use of tactical nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory.

According to President Alexander Lukashenko, this is a regular part of training that covers all types of weapons, from small arms to nuclear warheads.

The new hypersonic missile “Oreschnik,” which Russia had used for the first time in the war against Ukraine, also took part in the exercises.

The maneuvers took place just a few days after Poland and NATO shot down Russian drones over Poland, causing concern in neighboring countries.

Russia also trained the use of strategic bombers and units in Kaliningrad and on the Barents Sea. The presence of American military observers was surprising.

Lukashenko emphasized that the goal was not intimidation. Belarus is also continuing the restoration of Soviet nuclear depots.
