Governor of Kamchatka warns of tsunami after 7.2 magnitude earthquake
The governor of Russia's Kamchatka region announced early Friday that a tsunami warning had been issued following a 7.2 magnitude earthquake off the east coast of the peninsula.
Vladimir Solodov wrote on Telegram that residents had been informed of the danger, but that there were no reports of damage so far.
The US Tsunami Warning System stated that it had not issued a tsunami warning following the quake. The US Geological Survey (USGS) even recorded the quake as having a magnitude of 7.8.
