Heathrow, Berlin, and Brussels struggled with disruptions following a cyberattack on the airport system

London Heathrow Airport, Berlin, and Brussels continued to deal with the aftermath of a cyberattack that had crippled their automated check-in systems on Sunday. Collins Aerospace, a provider of onboard systems, was responsible for the problems and confirmed a “cyber technical issue” with its MUSE software.

The most serious complications were reported in Brussels, where 45 flights were canceled and passengers waited in line for up to an hour and a half. In Berlin, manual procedures were implemented to avoid chaos, and Heathrow reported that most connections were operating without significant restrictions.

Regulatory authorities are investigating the cause of the attack. The incident is one of a series of hacker attacks that have also affected car manufacturers and retail chains in the UK.
