Hamas questions Trump's plan, claiming it serves Israel, not the Palestinians

Hamas is expected to reject US President Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza, as it believes it favors Israel and ignores the interests of the Palestinians.

According to the BBC, the plan calls for the surrender of weapons, the simultaneous release of all hostages, and the presence of international forces—conditions that Hamas considers unacceptable.

While Israel has accepted the plan, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already publicly questioned some of its points. Conversely, some residents of Gaza see the plan as the only chance to end the war, regardless of its weaknesses.

Tensions are also heightened by the Israeli army's plans to remain in parts of Gaza.

Trump's proposal promises a path to Palestinian statehood, but the reality on the ground tells a different story. According to the UN, Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, which the country vehemently denies.

Hamas has not yet responded officially, but according to the BBC, intense internal debates are taking place.
