Reuters: Delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine unlikely

The Trump administration is considering supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk long-range missiles, which would enable attacks deep into Russian territory. The Kremlin views this as a significant escalation of the conflict.

However, the US plans may be difficult to implement, as current stocks are earmarked for the needs of the US Navy and other operations, a US official and three other sources told Reuters news agency.

The US Navy has so far purchased 8,959 missiles at an average price of $1.3 million per missile. In recent years, annual production of Tomahawks has ranged between 55 and 90 missiles. According to the Pentagon budget, the purchase of 57 missiles is planned for the coming year.

Sources say the US is looking at other missile options that could be delivered to Ukraine. It's also possible that European allies could buy these missiles and make them available to Kyiv through a NATO-funded mechanism.
