Left-wing youth in Germany incite attacks on Wiedel
A scandal has erupted in Germany after members of the youth organization of the Left Party (Linksjugend) in Hanover distributed stickers with the portrait of AfD chairwoman Alice Weidel and a crosshair with the inscription “Aim Here.”
The police in Lower Saxony have launched an investigation on suspicion of public incitement to commit a crime and threats of violence. According to media reports and complaints from the AfD, the stickers bore the official logo of Linksjugend, which underscores fears of radicalization within the youth organization.
The political reaction was fierce: AfD representatives spoke of an incitement to murder, while the CDU youth wing called for immediate surveillance of the Left Youth and the cancellation of its funding, according to the European Conservative portal.
The situation is exacerbated by the fact that the same group allegedly celebrated the murder of American conservative commentator Charlie Kirk on social media.
