Biden undergoes radiation therapy and battles prostate cancer
Former US President Joe Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment after being diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in May.
According to his team, it is an aggressive but hormone-sensitive form of the disease that should respond well to treatment. In September, he also underwent surgery to remove cancer cells from his skin, known as Mohs surgery.
Biden, who will celebrate his 83rd birthday next month, had already publicly disclosed his health condition in May. His spokesperson said on Saturday that the treatment is proceeding as planned.
The former president's health has long been a closely watched issue in the United States due to his age and his potential influence on Democratic Party politics.
