Last week, US intelligence discovered a suspicious raised hide near Palm Beach International Airport that offered a direct view of the area where President Donald Trump disembarks from Air Force One, NBC News reported.

The FBI is leading the investigation, said intelligence spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

According to the agency, there were no people at the site and the incident had no impact on the president's movements. Trump arrived in Florida on Friday and spent the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

This is the second year in a row that the president has been under increased threat. During the election campaign, he was the target of two assassination attempts – one in Pennsylvania and another in Palm Beach on a golf course.

The discovery of the tree stand is the latest security incident that has triggered cooperation between federal and local authorities.
