The US reportedly wants Kiev to sign a peace deal by 27 November

Russia's RIA Novosti news agency, citing a Financial Times article, reported that the United States expects Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to sign a White House peace plan by November 27 to help settle the conflict with Russia.

The 28-point plan is reportedly due to be presented to Moscow later this month and the whole process is expected to conclude in early December. According to media reports, it includes conditions such as leasing the Donbas to Russia, cutting the size of the Ukrainian army in half, giving up certain types of weapons and aspirations for NATO membership.

However, Ukraine is not satisfied with all points of the proposal and is preparing its own counter-proposals. According to the FT, it is therefore highly unlikely that the agreement will be signed by the deadline.

The White House confirmed on Thursday that communication on how to end the war is ongoing with both sides of the conflict.
