NATO has no plan B, relies on US and European support for Ukraine

NATO is not considering any "Plan B" in case the US stops supporting Ukraine, according to Secretary General Mark Rutte, Unian reports.

He stressed that the United States has confirmed its willingness to supply Kiev with the necessary weapons, including Patriot systems and PAC-3 missiles.

However, most of the cost of this assistance is to be covered by European and Canadian allies through the PURL programme, which has been in operation since July, according to Rutte. By the end of the year, Ukraine should thus receive military equipment worth around five billion euros.

According to Rutte, the aim is to preserve Ukraine's strength in the fight against Russian aggression. He also appealed to allies to step up their financial efforts, as US military aid remains crucial, but the Alliance must also rely on broader cooperation.
