US Vice President Vance tries out Navy SEALs drill
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance participated in a physical training session with elite Navy SEALs in Coronado, California, Fox News reports.
After the 90-minute workout, which included carrying trunks, rowing in the ocean and overcoming rope obstacles, he admitted to feeling like he had been run over by a freight train. He also took to social media to express his admiration and gratitude to the Special Forces soldiers for their service and high standards.
Vance, who previously served in Iraq as a Marine, stressed that his military past has fundamentally shaped his view of both security policy and the responsibility of leaders when sending troops into conflict.
The action fits into the Trump administration's broader effort to promote the physical readiness of the military, a point also emphasized by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. He regularly appeals to the need for combat fitness - from rank-and-file soldiers to generals.
