The US has released two Russians from a detained tanker

At Moscow's request, the US released two Russian sailors from the tanker Marinera, which it had detained off Iceland.

The vessel was sailing under the Russian flag and, according to the US, violated sanctions by participating in the export of Venezuelan oil. The Russian Ministry of Transport announced that it had lost contact with the ship after the intervention.

Moscow welcomed Washington's decision and declared that it would continue its active efforts to secure the return of all its citizens.
