Ministry of Defense: Yermak did not report for military service after his resignation
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced that former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak did not request mobilization into the army after leaving office. This is according to the ministry's response to a parliamentary inquiry from Yaroslav Zheleznyak of the Holos party faction.
According to DW TV, Yermak did not contact any regional recruitment center, even though he had previously publicly declared that he wanted to enlist and go to the front.
His statement came shortly after he was searched by members of the anti-corruption agencies NABU and SAP, who did not disclose the reasons for the search. President Volodymyr Zelensky subsequently accepted his resignation.
Yermak claimed at the time that he felt disgraced and that he "did not want to cause problems for the president." However, he has not yet specified when exactly and in what capacity he plans to join the army.
