Civilians in Ukraine suffer from cold weather, Pope Leo calls for peace

In his Sunday address, Pope Leo XIV again called for an end to the war in Ukraine, pointing to the increasingly difficult conditions faced by civilians during the winter. He stressed that the continuing Russian attacks are having serious consequences for the country's inhabitants, particularly due to the cold weather and the disruption of basic services.

During the regular Angelus prayer in Rome, he called on the international community to intensify efforts to stop the conflict.
