Afghan migrant in Britain kidnapped and raped a 12-year-old girl

A court in Warwick, England, found 23-year-old asylum seeker Ahmad Mulakhil guilty of kidnapping, raping, and making an indecent video of a 12-year-old girl in the town of Nuneaton. The crime took place in July last year when, according to the prosecution, the defendant and another man deliberately abducted the girl with the intention of sexually abusing her, GBNews reports.

The jury unanimously found Mulakhil guilty of several counts, although they acquitted him on one count of rape. His accomplice, Mohammad Kabir, was acquitted of all charges.

During the investigation, Mulakhil claimed that the girl had stated she was older and that she had gone with him voluntarily, but the prosecution described this as an attempt to shift the blame onto the victim.

The prosecutor pointed to the defendant's lack of self-reflection and his "disturbing" approach to the evidence. The court remanded him in custody and will decide on his sentence at a later date. Both men had been living in the United Kingdom for only a few months.
