Peskov: Ukraine conflict has become confrontation with the West
The Kremlin said on Tuesday that Western involvement in the conflict in Ukraine had transformed it into a broader confrontation with the West, which Moscow accuses of seeking to destroy Russia.
Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Moscow remains open to achieving its objectives through political and diplomatic means.
Asked whether Moscow believes the conflict can be resolved through talks, Peskov replied: "We are continuing our efforts to achieve peace, our position is very clear and consistent. Now everything depends on the actions of the Kiev regime."
He added that he could not say when or where the next round of negotiations with Ukraine would take place, as they had not yet been concluded: "We sincerely hope that this work will continue."
