Croatia defends Adria pipeline in dispute with Hungary

Croatian Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar rejected claims by Hungarian company MOL that the Adria pipeline charges higher fees. He emphasised that operator JANAF is a reliable partner and offers comparable, even lower prices than competing routes, according to him.

According to the minister Adria represents a shorter and cheaper alternative to the Družba pipeline for Slovakia and Hungary, with current deliveries of non-Russian oil to Hungary proving its capacity readiness.

During his visit to the US Šušnjar informed President Donald Trump's administration about Croatia's energy potential and investments in infrastructure. At the same time he called on EU partners, especially Bratislava and Budapest, to cut themselves off from Russian fossil fuels in the name of solidarity with Ukraine.

According to him Croatia plans to act in accordance with international law and will resist pressure on the issue of Russian oil.
