Russia may halt talks without Kyiv concessions

According to Bloomberg, Russia is signalling that without any indication of territorial concessions from Kyiv, further peace talks make little sense.

Russian officials are reportedly speaking more openly about the possibility of suspending negotiations if Ukraine does not shift its position on a ceasefire. A planned meeting in Abu Dhabi, set to follow talks with US envoys in Geneva, may determine whether the war moves towards an agreement or further escalation.

The dialogue mediated by Washington has largely stalled in recent weeks. Moscow is demanding that Ukraine cede even territory that Russian forces have not taken. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejects the demand and insists on preserving the country’s territorial integrity.
