Russian forces capture Hulajpole
Russian troops are stepping up activity on several sections of the front line in Ukraine and trying to exploit weaknesses in Ukrainian defences. This is according to analysts from the DeepState monitoring project.
According to the analysis, Russian forces carried out about 1,400 offensive actions on various sections of the front during the first ten days of March. Although this is the lowest figure in recent months, it is still close to the average of around 1,800 recorded previously.
Increased activity has also been recorded in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas. Analysts say Russian troops are focusing mainly on the towns of Rodynske and Hryshyne, where they regularly send infantry into attacks.
However, according to the analysts, the most dynamic situation is near Huliaipole. After occupying the town, Russian forces have managed to push deeper into the surrounding territory, for example towards the Zaliznychne – Staroukrainka – Sviatopetrivka line.
Near Kostiantynivka, Russian troops are searching for weak points in Ukrainian defences in an attempt to move closer to the town and begin fighting for it. There has also been increased activity around Sloviansk, which analysts link to Russian advances near the town of Siversk.
