Romania sends F-16s to monitor drones near Ukraine

On Friday, Romania dispatched fighter jets to monitor drones that may have violated its airspace. The Ministry of Defence also said debris from the drones may have fallen on Romanian territory near the border with Ukraine.

The ministry said radar systems detected aerial targets north of Tulcea county at about 10:00 am. Romanian air defences were therefore placed on alert and two F-16 fighter jets took off from the 86th air base in Borcea to assess and monitor the situation in the airspace.
