Ukraine briefs diplomats on Druzhba pipeline attacks
The Ukrainian state-owned company Naftogaz, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a briefing for representatives of foreign diplomatic missions on Russian attacks on the infrastructure of the Druzhba oil pipeline. This was reported by Naftogaz chairman Serhiy Koretskyi on Facebook, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
Representatives from 31 countries attended the meeting, including G7 nations and Ukraine’s European partners. According to Koretskyi, the Ukrainian side presented diplomats with detailed materials on the nature of the attack and its consequences, including photographs and video footage from the scene of the incident.
The diplomats were also briefed on the challenges faced by workers restoring the damaged infrastructure. According to Koretskyi, restoring such facilities is a technologically demanding process that requires time, specialised equipment, and work under conditions of a persistent threat of further Russian attacks.
Naftogaz and the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said they continue to brief international partners on the consequences of the attacks on energy infrastructure and on the progress of restoration work.
It remains unclear whether Hungarian and Slovak diplomats or experts also attended the meeting.
