Israel destroys bridges in Lebanon over alleged Hezbollah smuggling

Israel continues to strike infrastructure in Lebanon. Defence Minister Yisrael Katz said the army had destroyed two more bridges over the Litani River, which he said were used by Hezbollah to smuggle weapons into the south of the country. He did not specify the exact location of the strikes.

Katz also warned the Lebanese government that Israel would not tolerate the use of state infrastructure for military purposes by Iran-backed Hezbollah.

The attacks mark a continuation of the escalation. Last week the Israeli army destroyed another bridge and distributed leaflets in Beirut warning of large-scale attacks similar to those in Gaza.
