Reform UK leads polls as thousands protest in London

On Saturday, London saw a large public mobilisation against the growing influence of extremism. Tens of thousands of people took to the streets in a march organised by the Together Alliance, with estimates suggesting that up to 30,000 may have taken part. The demonstration was one of the largest of its kind in recent years.

Protesters focused largely on criticism of the Reform UK party and its leader Nigel Farage, who, according to polls, is leading in political support. Migration was also a prominent issue, as anti-immigration rhetoric remains one of the party’s central pillars.

Foreign symbols, including pro-Palestinian and Iranian flags, were also visible at the march, suggesting links to wider geopolitical themes. Representatives of other parties, including Green Party leader Zach Polanski, also took part. The protest reflects both the increasing polarisation of British politics and growing pressure on Keir Starmer’s government.
