Iran vows to wage war until US and Israel face ‘permanent regret’
Tehran will continue to wage war in the Middle East until the United States and Israel experience ‘permanent regret and capitulation’, a spokesman for the Iranian armed forces’ unified command said on Thursday, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
The threat followed US President Donald Trump’s prime-time address on Wednesday, in which he said Washington would hit Iran ‘extremely hard’ within weeks, even though the country, he added, had been ‘essentially decimated’ and the United States was close to achieving its military objectives.
Ebrahim Zolfaqari responded by saying that US and Israeli assessments of Iran’s military capabilities were ‘incomplete’. Tehran, he said, would step up its military actions and its enemies would face ‘more crushing, more extensive and more devastating’ attacks.
