Iran threatens 'crushing' attacks after Trump warning

Iran has warned it will launch 'crushing' attacks against the United States and Israel in response to remarks by US President Donald Trump, who has raised the prospect of bombing Iran in the coming weeks.

An official from Iran's military operational command said the conflict would continue until the “surrender” of its adversaries and signalled that further, more destructive steps were being prepared. He also dismissed US and Israeli assessments of Iran’s military capabilities as incomplete.

The conflict began on 28 February with US and Israeli strikes on Iran and has since spread across the wider Middle East.

Trump said on Wednesday that the United States was close to achieving its objectives, while warning of further escalation if no agreement is reached.

Iran later launched an attack on the Tel Aviv area, injuring at least four people.
