Hungary claims Ukraine is interfering in upcoming elections

The Hungarian think tank HIIA accused Ukraine of interfering in the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country. According to its report, there is a coordinated network of social media accounts designed to influence the online debate in favour of the opposition and against Viktor Orbán's government.

The analysis suggests that much of this activity originates in Ukraine, with a smaller proportion attributed to Serbia and Georgia.

Orbán spoke of election interference as early as January, and Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó later claimed it was an unprecedented move by foreign intelligence services.

The report points to specific accounts that have an atypical structure of followers and more aggressive language. According to the authors, this is not a normal domestic discussion, but a closed network linked to a foreign environment.
