Iran Warns Military Ships in Hormuz Will Face Harsh Response

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that any attempt by military vessels to cross the Strait of Hormuz would result in a “harsh response”, adding that only commercial ships would be allowed to pass under specific regulations, according to a statement carried by Iranian media.

The statement followed an announcement by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) that two US Navy destroyers had passed through the Strait of Hormuz to begin clearing mines that Washington said Tehran had deployed.
