Iran Partially Opens Its Airspace to International Flights
Tehran haspartially opened its airspace to international flights. This was announced by the local civil aviation authority.
It said air routes in the eastern part of the country have been reopened to foreign aircraft flying over Iranian territory. The authority also said that some airports have resumed operations as of 07:00 local time.
However, even more than three hours after this announcement, according to aviation monitoring websites, no international flights were actually recorded as passing through Iranian airspace.
A number of aircraft reportedly continued to avoid Iranian territory, taking longer detour routes.
The reopening of part of the airspace has thus far had no immediate practical impact on international air traffic.
