Magyar Urges Kyiv to Reopen Druzhba Pipeline

Hungarian election winner Peter Magyar has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to restore operation of the Druzhba oil pipeline as soon as technically possible. Magyar also appealed to Russia to resume oil supplies through the pipeline, saying that restarting it was essential to meeting the region's energy needs.

Magyar also addressed the expansion of the Paks nuclear power plant, describing the project as important and necessary. He warned, however, that a new government would need to review the financing terms for the construction, including the conditions of the project loan and the possibility of restructuring or refinancing it.

The Paks expansion is one of Hungary's key energy projects. Magyar said he considers it strategically important but that its financing requires detailed assessment.
