Three Charged Over String of Fires Targeting Starmer's Property

British prosecutors have charged three men with links to Ukraine over a series of arson attacks on property belonging to Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Over five days last May, three fires were set in north London, targeting a house where Starmer had lived, another property linked to him and a car belonging to him.

The main defendant, Roman Lavrynovych, 22, was allegedly motivated by a financial reward offered by a person known by the nickname "El Money". The identity of that individual and their motives are not the subject of the current proceedings.

Prosecutors stressed that the series of fires targeting property linked to one person was not random. The two other defendants are Petro Pochynok, a Ukrainian national, and Stanislav Carpiuc, a Romanian national born in Ukraine.

All three are charged with conspiracy and arson with intent to endanger life or reckless disregard for human life.
