King Charles Visits Jewish Community After Antisemitic Attacks

King Charles III visited the London borough of Golders Green on Thursday to show his support for the local Jewish community, which has faced several antisemitic attacks in recent weeks. The unannounced visit came as officials say the community is living in a climate of fear.

During the visit, the king met two victims of a recent knife attack that police are investigating as an act of terrorism. In the same area, four ambulances belonging to the Jewish community had been set on fire and a memorial wall had also been targeted.

Charles was greeted by Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, who thanked him for his support and encouragement. The king also held talks with religious and civic leaders.

The visit is the latest in a series of gestures of support from the monarch. Following an attack on a synagogue in northern England last year, he visited the local community, and in March he became patron of an organization providing protection for British Jews.
