Putin Heads to Beijing to Strengthen Ties with China
Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a two-day visit to China next week, where he will meet President Xi Jinping. The Kremlin has said the talks will focus on the further development of strategic relations between Moscow and Beijing, as well as current international and regional issues.
The visit comes at a time of continuing tensions between Russia and the West, as Moscow deepens its economic and political cooperation with China. The two presidents are expected to discuss trade, energy, geopolitics and coordination on the international stage.
The Kremlin appears keen to use the visit to demonstrate the strength of the Russia-China partnership despite Western sanctions and Russia's international isolation following the invasion of Ukraine.
