Putin and UAE Leader Discuss Middle East and Iran Crisis

The Kremlin has announced that Vladimir Putin held talks with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the conflict with Iran and the security situation in the Middle East. The two presidents expressed support for the continuation of diplomatic negotiations aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement.

The call comes at a time of heightened tensions following US and Israeli attacks on Iran and subsequent restrictions on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Putin also highlighted the role of the UAE in addressing humanitarian issues related to the war in Ukraine.

The UAE has long maintained pragmatic relations with both Russia and Western countries, often acting as a neutral partner in regional negotiations. Analysts say Moscow is seeking to strengthen its influence in the region through contacts with Arab states while demonstrating that it remains a significant diplomatic player despite Western-led isolation.
